No longer seen as the sick man of East Asia, the country has been showing macroeconomic stability with the government’s fiscal situation sound and improving. Bagging the Deal

Not one to pass up on a promising opportunity, MAFBEX Events Management, a subsidiary of Worldbex Services International (the Philppines’ leading exhibition and event organizers) deemed it timely and propitious to venture into a collaborative effort to foster new business relationships and in turn expand its operations, alongside its plight to open doors for the country and thus enrich its cultural undertakings.

Breaking new ground and paving the way for the much-anticipated ASEAN integration, MAFBEX is proud to announce that the Philippines, through its collective efforts, has won the bid to host the ASEAN leg of the Salon International de I’Agroalimentaire or SIAL, a subsidiary of COMEXPOSIUM and the world’s leading international food network.

Themed as the “Best Kept Secret for Food and Wine Business in Asia,” SIAL ASEAN is slated to run from June 11 to 13 at the Main Hall of the World Trade Center Metro Manila, simultaneously and co-located with the 8th installment of MAFBEX which will be utilizing the venue’s Tents A and B, as well as the Philippine Trade Training Center.

Age of Culinary Renaissance

As the demand for a more diverse and international food market heightens, these days mark the most ideal time for a renaissance in Philippine culinary culture – and it appears that the global food market agrees.

MAFBEX, in partnership with COMEXPOSIUM aims to bring the magic of SIAL to the ASEAN market. Seasoned with over 50 years of experience, SIAL is “THE meeting place” where unique know-how and expertise thrives to identify the most dynamic food markets and generate business opportunities in a Business-to-Business (B2B) environment.

Expecting over 15,000 trade buyers to grace the event, the SIAL ASEAN is poised to be a rich pool of opportunity for starting and growing businesses to show not only the local industry, but the rest of the world the best products and services they have to offer.

As it prides in being an all-inclusive business class event, the SIAL ASEAN is anticipated to foster trade and export relationships between businesses. Among the 500 expected exhibitor booths from 20 countries include alcoholic beverages, bakery, canned and preserved products, confectionery, cured meats and deli, dairy products and eggs, frozen food, fruit and vegetables, gourmet and fine food, grocery products, health products and food supplements, ingredients and outsourcing solutions, meat, poultry, and game, none-alcoholic beverages, organic products, prepared meals, convenience products, seafood, and wines.

Meanwhile, 15,000 trade visitors expected hail from businesses including cafes, restaurants, clubs and bars, catering and foodservice, central purchasing groups, distributors, distributors for foodservice, food manufacturers, producers, processors, grocery and convenience stores, importers and traders, retailers, supermarkets and hypermarkets, wholesalers, and wine merchants, to name a few.

Over the course of the three-day food exposition, visitors are encouraged to take part in SIAL ASEAN’s events such as the Hosted Buyers Program wherein 300 top ASEAN buyers are invited and hosted throughout the event for matchmaking opportunities and one-on-one meetings.

To showcase worldwide innovations as selected by a jury of food experts as well as those offered by exhibiting companies, SIAL Innovation will shed the spotlight on current and future consumption trends. There will also be an area for in-the-kitchen demonstrations and training known as the La Cuisine by SIAL, featuring international foodservice professionals and chefs.
