Since 1964 Salon International de I’Agroalimentaire, or simply SIAL, has become the venue where the latest innovations in the food industry come to light to help pave the way to the advancement of the global food market. This season marks a significant moment for the Philippine food industry as SIAL ASEAN Manila returns to host the largest food innovation observatory to be held in the Southeast Asian region.

Made possible with a forged partnership between Comexposium and MAFBEX Events Management (MEM), a subsidiary of the country’s leading event and exhibit organizer, Worldbex Services International, all these and more will unfold right before the eyes of the local food industry as the 2nd SIAL ASEAN-MANILA opens today at the World Trade Center.

To officially mark the launch of SIAL ASEAN-MANILA 2015, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held this morning at the lobby of the venue. To attend this momentous event are MEM Founding Chairman Jospeh L. Ang, MEM Co-founder Mrs. Levi S. Ang, MEM Managing Director Jill Aithnie Ang, SIAL Group Director Nicolas Trentesaux, SIAL ASEAN Regional Director Joanne Cook and other MEM executives  who will be joined by honorary guest DA Usec. Bernadette Romulo Puyat representing Secretary Proceso Alcala.

With the goal of elevating the region’s food industry into a highly competitive force in the global field, this year’s installment will be serving up a record-breaking total of 350 exhibitors from 16 different countries. As a result, this year’s installment is expected to attract at least 10,000 visitors from 40 countries –making it the biggest B2B platform for the Philippine food industry and the rest of the Southeast Asian region.

Throughout the three-day exposition which lasts until June 19, visitors are expected to experience an all-inclusive trade event which will give each and every one of them the chance to get a firsthand look at the industry’s most innovative products and services as well as the opportunity to rub elbows with food experts. Visitors can also expect a plethora of activities and highlights that will surely engage and enlighten them.

Aimed at showcasing the latest and most impressive modernizations in the food industry, SIAL Innovation will be featuring products that were carefully selected by a jury of industry experts.

SIAL ASEAN Manila also welcomes international food service professionals and chefs in La Cuisine, an area for in-kitchen demonstrations and trainings set to take place throughout the event. At the Wine Tasting area, visitors are invited to enjoy tasting sessions presented by professional wine buyers from various ASEAN regions.

Meanwhile, SIAL ASEAN-MANILA Seminars, which offers free registration, will be bringing together select industry experts to discuss relevant topics and provide insightful talks regarding the food trade. Also, not to be missed is World Tour by SIAL, a well-curated exhibit by the crème de la crème of the world’s food journalists, flown from Paris to Asia for the first time.

If you’re a part of the food and beverage industry, don’t miss the chance to explore the flavors of the world. SIAL ASEAN-MANILA 2015 is ongoing until June 19, from 10am to 7pm at the World Trade Center Manila.
